The right to marry

..."The right to marry whoever one wishes is an elementary human right compared to which "the right to attend an integrated school, the right to sit where one pleases on a bus, the right to go into any hotel or recreation area or place of amusement, regardless of one's skin or color or race" are minor indeed. Even political rights, like the right to vote, and nearly all other rights enumerated in the Constitution, are secondary to the inalienable human rights to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence; and to this category the right to home and marriage unquestionably belongs."
Hannah Arendt, Dissent, Winter 1959

200 años de Edgar Allan Poe

"Shadows of shadows passing.
It is now 1831, and as always I am absorbed with a delicate thought.
It is how poetry has indefinite sensations, to which end music is inessential.
Since the comprehension of sweet sound is our most indefinite conception, music, when combined with a pleasurable idea, is poetry.
Music without the idea is simply music.
Without music or an intriguing idea,
colour becomes pallor, man becomes carcase,
home becomes catacomb,
and the dead are but for a moment motionless."

Edgar Allan Poe

Plata Quemada - Ricardo Piglia

"We must declare ourselves, become known; allow the world to discover this subterranean life of ours which connects kings and farm boys, artists and clerks. Let them see that the important thing is not the object of love, but the emotion itself."
